will activate the Trikeri Lighthouse, with identification number ARLHS GRE-128.

Along with the expedition operators, the following radio-amateurs will participate for one day out of the two planned for the expedition:

It is the first time that the specific lighthouse will be activated, for radio-amateur purposes!!!

The Trikeri Lighthouse activation will take place during the first weekend of July (5 & 6 July 2008), with the special callsign SY4LH. The lighthouse is situated on Point Kavoulia, about a ten-minute hike from the Geroplina Settlement of Trikeri, in the Gulf of Pagasetikos.

Lighthouse History.

This lighthouse was manufactured in 1864 from the French Company of Lighthouses. The altitude of tower is 9 metres and the height of focalplane is 16 metres. Active: focal plane 22 m (72 ft), three long (2 s)white flashes every 20 s. It's a square rubblestone tower with lantern and gallery, attached to a 1-story masonry keeper's house. The lighthouse is unpainted stone, lantern painted white with a green dome - keeper's house painted white. It is found near to Trikeri in the Pagasitikos gulf.
