Live in the country on a 2.2 acre wooded lot on the St Lawrence river approximately 4 miles west of Brockvillle Ontario (60 miles south of the capital of Canada - Ottawa). Elizabethtown is actually a township that surrounds the closest very small city of Brockville. Nearest neighbor is 200' away. The tower is located 150' from the house.
TH11DX being raised up in 1994
Tower base looking north. The grey box contains rotor control cable surge suppressors. The black box is RCS-4 antenna switch used for the 2 phased 40 meter verticals. This picture show the pressure treated 2x4 (8' long) that is used as a standoff for wire antennas. It is located at approx. 75' level. Nylon ropes go through 3/4" holes in the ends of the 2x4. No pulley's to fail.
Elizabethtown is located 60 miles south of Ottawa the capital of Canada.
This region was hit hard by the Ice Storm of 1998. The QSL card shows
the kind of damage that severe ice storms can inflict on trees and antennas.
Believe it or not, these trees survived the storm.
Original QSL card from 1969

My original call was VE3GMQ. Here is a picture of my station in 1967.
Heathkit HR-10 & DX-60A rockbound on 40M CW.
Here is a better picture of me in the spring of 1967 holding a QSL card from Montreal World Fair EXPO67
Notice the Verticals on either end of the all metal garage:
Verticals on garage looking west from near tower base.
Verticals on all metal garage looking east. Notice the tower behind the garage and the
east most vertical in line with it.
View from Tower of my 40M verticals mounted on either end of the garage.
The one on the bottom of the picture is more visible. the other one is obscured by the pine tree.
600 ohm open wire feedline from shack on outside wall of house. Used for 270' inverted vee.
The top box is a 600 ohm surge/lightning protector & static discharge from ICE.
The middle two black items are switches. These are commonly used on electric fences.
The bottom box is a 10kW 1-to-1 balun
Open wire shows on top going through woods to wire antenna on tower.
Total length of feedline is 300 feet.
The black cable below the open wire is other coax feedlines to the tower.
