Got interested in ham radio back in 1977 and got my Novice call in early 80s. My class was Amateur Unrestricted because I did the CW exam. The bands I like to work most are 160 80 40 17 15 10 mtrs, and over a period of 16 years I managed to work 301 countries on 80 mtrs ssb. Man that was hard with only 400w. I moved from Esperance in september 2004 to a small farming town in central wheatbelt called Kellerberrin, Now moved to a 20 acre property 30 k's North of Tammin. Antennas dipole 40-80-160 mtrs, 85 ft above ground + 3ele t / b & new home brew 3 ele yargi for 17 mtr which I built over the xmas break Dec 2010, it seems to work very well. Just finished home brew 3 ele 12 mtr beam which works very well. Also home brew vertical for 30 mtrs. Next job is to get my 80 mtr verticals up and my TH6DXX, and down the track a beam for 40 mtrs. I also work mobile, rig is Icom 706m2g, very nice little radio, antennas home brew for all bands 160 to 10 mtrs plus 2mtrs and 70cms. My best mate is a blue heeler kelpie cross called champ, and my other best mate VK6AKV Keith who over 30 years has helped with my antennas. After many years we managed to get another old mate back on air, VK6NO Lindsay. Good to have you back mate. IF YOU NEED A QSL CARD PLEASE SENT DIRECT WITH IRC OR 2 GREEN BACKS. PEOPLE WHO SEND QSL'S WITH NO IRC OR GREEN BACKS WILL GET NO RETURNS. For those that dont know in Australia a four letter suffix starting with F is a foundation call restricted to 10w Three letter suffix starting with H,L,M,N,P,V are resticted to100w. Most other two and three suffix calls can use 400w and can now apply for 1kw. Hope this helps other countries that dont understand the system here. 73 VK6APZ Peter.
