My name is Ronald Kristijanto, I was bored one day at work and bought an ICOM IC-R6 scanner in eBay. Earlier that month I also found a QSL card belonging to my late uncle YB2BSF while cleaning up my room. I switched on the ICOM IC-R6, scanned around, found the 2 meters VK6RAP repeater and had a listen. I tried to understand how the amateur stations operate by using their callsigns to identify themselves and pass around their turns to speak. Then I googled 'amateur radio' which led me to Ham College website. Without any further thought I booked myself in for a Foundation Course and got my license at the end of March 2011. I have been enjoying the hobby since then. My interest right now is building beam antennas and also recently trying to listen and hopefully contact an Amateur Satellite such as AO-51 (unfortunately it is already dead now and I'm waiting for the Fox-1 to be launched)
