General rustom zal kabraji,retired indian army corps of signals was born 31st july 1917. He passed away on 21st feb 2008.

Kab as he was fondly known on the air had an illustrious career in the indian army till he retired in june 1970. He was one of the first signal officers to be chosen to command a mountain brigade & later a mountain division in the army. He was also honorary ADC general to the president of india.

Kab was confered with the AVSM medal for services rendered to the nation during his army tenure. He was an old timer & very keen ham operator known the world over for his fine cw signals.Kab was technically competent in electronics & built his own ham equipment & antennas---the famous quad antenna was popularised by him in india during the early 50s. He was one of the team that led the first dxepd to Bhutan in 1962 with call vu2us/ac5. His other interests were golf, angling & stamp collection.

Kab was married to his xyl,Nargesh who passed away on 6th feb 2004 at the age of 86yrs. Their two sons are Zal rustom kabraji, also a keen ham with call VU2DK & Zubin rustom kabraji.
