Hello HAM community. My wife and I retired to Rockport, TX, which is located on Aransas Bay about 30 miles north of Corpus Christi. I am a retired Math and Computer Science teacher and I have lived in many states of the country. I was born and raised in Knightstown, Indiana and have many fond memories of my time spent there. Hoosier's, a true story, the movie about a small Indiana high school winning the state high school basketball championship was filmed in our high school gym and most of the people acting in the movie are citizens of Knightstown and the surrounding area.  

We retired to Rockport and have found the people very nice and the area is excellent for birding, fishing, boating, the beaches and HAM radio enthusiasts. The local HAMs all meet at JJ’s Cafe located in downtown Rockport on business SR35 every Saturday morning at 8:00 am, please feel free to attend if you are in town.

I returned to HAM radio after many years of absence at the urging of my cousin Phil (W4SES) in West Palm Beach. My wife (KF5FLV) is also involved in HAM radio too.  I am a member and actively involved with Texas RACES and Aransas County ARES and both my wife and I are members of the STARC HAM Radio Club in Corpus Christi. Most of the local HAMs monitor repeater 147.080 +107.2 Give us a call if you are in the area or passing through.
