Radio and shortwave listening have been strong interests of mine since early childhood. I'm an ARRL VE and belong to QCWA, FISTS, SKCC and hold a mixed mode DXCC. My current HF radios include an Icom 746 Pro plus a re-aligned Atlas 210X as a backup. HF antennas include an S9 vertical (43') and a Cobra dipole. On VHF/UHF, I use a Yaesu FT-7900 and an FT-1900 in the shack with both a Comet dual band vertical and an old Ringo Ranger. I run a second FT-7900 in my Jeep and hope to someday get back into HF mobile after a long absence.

I love music, jeeps, guns, kids, cats and dogs. I enjoy flying as a private pilot and am a former member of Mensa (I was too cheap to keep paying the dues.) About my QSL card - no, I don't fly an Airbus, but my son does. I'm a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus (and founded the Knights of Columbus Net). On the family front, my XYL Jane (KA1YAO) and I enjoy spoiling our six grandkids - and there's a seventh one on the way!

Professionally, I've developed hundreds of wireless and fiber optic amplification sites throughout the USA. From 1995 to 2004 I developed wireless sites throughout Florida and the southeastern U.S. Since 2004 I've worked on upgrading wireless networks for Sprint and AT&T throughout New England. Currently I'm working on a large scale modernization project for T-Mobile. Prior to joining the wireless industry in 1995, I was a commercial banker and had appraised and financed over $3 billion of mixed use projects throughout the United States.

I return QSL 100%: I figure if you go to the trouble of sending me one, the least I can do is send you one! I enjoy traditional printed QSLs - bureau and direct OK - but appreciate LotW confirmations for awards tracking. (I have an eQSL account but don't actively use it.)

73,

Bill, W1WH
