I was first licensed in 1957 as KN4IUV. When the Extra class license was offered I up graded to the Extra class licenses. I have held calls K4IUV, W5LIV, TF2WFX, and W4TO. My main interest is Dxing. I do some rag chewing. I like both CW and phone operation. I now operate a fully functioning remote station on 160-6 meters on CW, phone, and the digital modes. The station consist of a Ten Tec Orion II, and Omni VII transceiver. They drive an Alpha 87A amplifier. The antenna system consists of a 71 ft. motorized crank up tower supporting a Hygain TH11 at 72 ft., a seven elm. Beam for 6 meters at 75 ft., and a Force12 Delta 240/230 for 40 meters and 30 meters at 80 ft. The tower is shunt feed for 160 and 80 meters. A separate DX Engineering 4 sq. is used for receiving on 160 and 80 meters. A Yaesu 2800 rotator is used to turn the beams.

The remote station is operated remotely from 35 miles away via the internet.
