Pasadena Radio Club dates back to 1953, with a predecessor organization, the Pasadena Short-Wave Club, in the 1940's. The club is a regular participant in Field Day, provides public service assistance for Pasadena events, and sponsors classes leading to licensing at the Novice and Technician levels. PRC is an ARRL Special Service Club, and was responsible for publicity and program booklet for the ARRL Southwestern Division Convention [ http://www.qsl.net/arrlsw/hamcon/ ] held October 1-3, 1999, aboard the Queen Mary in Long Beach, California. Club members regularly participate in local emergency preparedness exercises, often in connection with RACES, in an Arson Watch sponsored by the Pasadena Fire Department, and in the Tournament of Roses Radio Amateurs [ http://www.artnet.net/~torra/ ].
Mail for the club's Board of Directors should be addressed to:

The PRC call sign is that of an early member, Tom Nikirk (SK). http://www.qsl.net/w6ka/images/oldw6ka.gif is an image of his QSL card.
