Got started in Ham Radio in 1954 at the grade school in Homedale, Idaho. My novice call sign was wn7zrc. First rigs were converted ARC-5s. After upgrading to Conditional to W7ZRC, I let my license lapse during High School and College. Grad of the University of Idaho 1968 with a BS in Business. Later I also attended Boise State and a Banking School in Seattle. Got back on the air in 1978 with the call sign wb7ruf, then reapplied for my original call and upgraded to Extra. Active on HF with CW, SSB and RTTY with a little PSK-31 once in awhile. I love to contest and am active in most of the major contests either from home or at the NK7U super station in Baker City, OR. Married with 4 daughters and one son - Lots of family - grandkids and great grandkids. Retired since Jan 2009. Was in the Banking industry first part of my working life in banking and computer operations, then with the City of Boise also in computer operations and management until retirement. Currently have an old Kenwood TS-950SDX, Ten Tec Orion II, Icom IC-7000, Yaesu FT-8900, and Icom IC-2720H. MicroHam microKeyer is the interface. An old BTI Amp adds to the RF when needed. Also working on a Kenwood TL-922A amp. Antennas: Cushcraft A3S at 50 ft, two Hy-Towers phased, and three slopers tuned with a SGC230 auto tuner.
