Congrats to W9GRS for taking 4th place in the February 2012 School Club Round-up! The Crew worked 202 contacts and set station records with 35 school contacts and 71,000+ Points! The Crew will operate during the last day of school and then operate during Field Day.

The Glenn Raymond School Science Club has now entered the airwaves! The Science Club has been serving Jr. High students at Glenn Raymond School since 1976, offering opportunities such as canoeing, skiing, caving, and now Amateur Radio!

The Iroquois County Amateur Radio Club (AD9L, ex. W9RWX) got interest started by helping us celebrate our 30th Anniversary in 2006. This helped lead Science Club sponsor Troy Simpson (W9KVR) get his license and implement a HAM station at the school.

Wehave participatedin the ARRL School Club Round-up since October 2008 having finished in the top4 in the Middle School Division the last3 years and finishing FIRST in the October 2011 and February 2011 editions. We have also participated in the 2009 SSB Sweepstakes, the 2010 Florida QSO Party, and the 2010 Illinois QSO Party. We are the GOTA Station and QTH for the AD9L (Iroquois County Amateur Radio Club) Field Day Activities.

We are active in getting students on air and pursuing their tickets. We help sponsor regular VE Testing Sessions through the ARRL.

The Club was awarded an ARRL ETP Grant in 2008 to help with acquiring equipment for their new station.

We are looking at utilizing an old tower, in the near future, at "The Bus Barn" for either a APRS digi-peater or other repeater. W9GRS' "Back 40" is also the site location for the AD9L Field Day Station and W9GRS GOTA Station.
