Currently live in Seoul, Korea and operate as HL1/WX8C. I enjoy DXing, HF contesting and operating from various countries that I visit. Have had recent operations as T88OO, HS0ZID (thank you to Champ, E21EIC, for assistance with license and operating), JT1/WX8C (thank you to Naran, JT1BV, for assistance with license and operating), KH2/WX8C (thank you to Danny, KH2JU, for assistance with operating), KH0/WX8C, and WX8C/BY4AA. For Saipan operations, also operating as AH0DX in contests. I am somewhat limited in my ability to put up antennas in Seoul, and right now just have a 20 meter dipole mostly surrounded by apartment buildings. My balcony overlooks the Iraqi embassy in Seoul, so I am trying to not attract too much attention from that direction. I am currently operating CW, SSB, RTTY and JT65A from Seoul. In October 2007, we activated HL9BSA for the 50th anniversary Jamboree on the Air, operating from Yongsan U.S. Military Garrison in downtown Seoul. The event was attended by approximately 10 U.S. Boy Scouts, a number of adult volunteers and several Korean amateur radio operators who assisted with the operation. In October 2008, we were active from Camp Humphreys for the 51st anniversary JOTA. Have also been active in all of the subsequent JOTAs. You can QSL HL9BSA to me. Several Seoul/Yongsan area amateurs have also activated HL9A a couple of times over the past several years from a temporary operating location on Yongsan U.S. Military Garrison. We only have a 40 meter dipole, so we have been mostly limited to 40 and 15 meter activity. There are not too many HL9 stations active right now, but we are trying to fill "the void". You can QSL HL9A to me. QSL (WX8C, HL1/WX8C, KH2/WX8C, KH0/WX8C, AH0DX, HS0ZID, T88OO, JT1/WX8C, WX8C/BY4AA, V85/WX8C) to:

or via bureau to: WX8C. I also QSL 100% via LOTW. Please note: If our QSO is by JT65A mode, you may have my callsign recorded as HL/WX8C. This is due to a software limitation, but my Korea callsign is actually HL1/WX8C. All QSL cards and LoTW confirmations will use the full callsign HL1/WX8C. My gridsquare in Seoul is PM37lm. I will be in Brunei, March 17 and 18, 2012. Will operate in the BARTG RTTY contest (V85/WX8C) and in the Russian DX contest (V85/AH2Y). Will also operate various bands and modes outside the contests. If you happen to work me on JT65A as V8/WX8C, please note this is due to a limitation in the software/protocal, and my actual callsign is V85/WX8C. All QSO's will be downloaded to LoTW using the full callsign. Last modified: 2012-03-18 05:41:17, 2758 bytes cached
