I have started my hamradio activity in 1982, being licenced as SWL (YO9-8587/PH)

My first license was issued in 2003, after a certain period of inactivity due to studies, job, family.

First transceiver was Yaesu FT 840 which I sold this year (2010). It was used as a backup transceiver but now I have Yaesu FT 897D as a backup!

Now I am using Yaesu FT1000MP Mark V, ACOM 1000 and OptiBeam 12-6 installed on a block of flats (about 50 meters high). I do not have, yet, an antenna for 80 m! I am the owner of a GAZ 66 military truck, fully functional, having the entire set of R118BM3. I guess I will have to use it for 80 m in some contests and for field days!

I like QSL-ing (especially paper), eQSL-ing, DX hunting, contesting.

As a volonteer activity, I was the Vice-President of FRR (Romanian Radioamateur Federation) between 2008-2010.

Special callsigns: YR0HKW (100 year of aviation in Romania), YR0R (contest callsign)
