I am licensed since 1980 after 17 years of struggle with the former communist authorities and I have achieved "double" 8BDXCC (more than 200 entities on each of the eight bands), DXCC Mixed, CW, SSB and RTTY (RTTY DXCC No.131) using no more than 100 watts and simple antennae (dipoles, verticals). I am waiting for the last QSL cards for the Honor Roll (HK0NA).

I am using now TEN TEC OMNI V as a base station and an FT-897 as a backup rig, for alternative activity from my countryside QTH and for 50 MHz. I enjoy CW DXing, but I am active occasionally in SSB and digital modes too.

I am a professional translator for Romanian, English, French, German and Hungarian. I published in Romanian hundreds of articles and translations about ham radio in magazines and on websites and a Conversation Guide for radio amateurs in 6 languages, available also from the menu of my blog.
