La Asociación de Radioaficionados de Venezuela y el Grupo DX Caracas
organizaron la DXpedición Isla Aves 2006. Inició de transmisiones el 20 de
Abril de 2006. Pocas horas después, fallece nuestro operador de 80 metros SSB y
digital, José Valdés YV5LIX. En su honor, el grupo de compañeros decidieron
continuar le DXpedición con el indicativo YX0LIX, autorizado por la Comisión
Nacional de Telecomunicaciones.

Tha Association of Radioamateurs of Venezuela and the Grupo DX Caracas
organized the Aves Island DXpedition 2006, starting April 20, 2006. Few hours
later, our 80 meter SSB and digital operator, Jose Valdes YV5LIX, passed away.
In his honor, his teammates decided to continue the operation under YX0LIX
callsign, authorized by the National Telecommunications Commission.
