Beautiful beaches, water encircled by coral reefs, enchanting scenery. This is Morro de São Paulo, an island where the only motorized transportation consists of tractors to take visitors to outlying beaches, leaving in the morning and returning in the afternoon.

Another outing not to be missed is a boat ride around the island, during which visitors will discover unforgettable scenery. For those who like to hike, there are trails and climbs that eventually take you to the beaches.

There is good accommodation infrastructure — approximately 10 hotels, a camping site and over 100 pousadas (inns).

I have been there for three times. In august 1997 I visited the Island for the first time during a vacation weekend with my wife. I did about 500 QSOs on 20 meters SSB. In september/octuber same year, I went back to the island for a dxpedition. I seted up my antennas on a top of a hill and did abt 6000 QSOs SSB / CW 40-10 meters. The third time occurred in may 1999 with closed friends. PY7ZY-Ciro, PT7WA-Luke and PT7BZ-Eli. Two station most of the time.
