Stilt-walking Mocko Jumbies have been in the Virgin Island's cultural heritage for over 200 years and can be traced to Africa as far back as the 13th and 14th centuries. The presence of the Mocko Jumbie at carnivals, parades, jump-ups, and even at a beach BBQ is a blessing and an honor. They are viewed as symbols of history, culture, and heritage. Macho Jumbies perform at special events and celebrations to ensure good luck and a fun time for all.

IOTA NA-106------ K2V Virgin Islands Special Event Christmas Festival Month of December —From Saint Croix Island Sharon K7WZB and Garry K9WZB will be operating from Saint Croix Island December 2-14 , 2009 as K2V Operating all bands 160-6 meters. Will be monitoring 6 meters most of the time for opening to US and Europe. Operating SSB, RTTY, CW and PSK 31 all bands.
