First licensed as a junior in High School in the Bronx NY in1964 as WN2ORH. Served in the US Army (1967-71) as a morse intercept operator (MOS O5H2F3) serving in Pleiku, Republic of Viet-Nam between April 68-69, and perfromed ARDF between Feb 1970-71 at DaNang and later Hue/Phu Bai Viet-Nam. Returned to Viet-Nam in 1998 along with my friend Les, W2LK (3W6LK) as the first americans to operate from 3W since the war and again in 1999 with my XYL to operate as 3W6WE. I have operated from Bermuda, Aruba, St.Martin, St. Lucia, Hong Kong, Israel and Barbados where I hold the call 8P9AP.

I'm now retired after almost 30 years in the security business.

Just finished assembly of an Elecraft K3/100 Transceiver in january. What an amazing piece of gear. Glad to see a US company back in Ham Radio again. I'm using a Comet CHA-250Bx 80-6 meter vertical ground mounted in the woods behind my house (it's only 23' tall with NO radials needed8 along with several long wires. No more big amplifiers.

We re-located to upstate New York 8 years ago and have a home in Saratoga Springs, NY. We have wintered on Siesta Key Florida and the Island of Barbados over the past 13 years. We operated again from Barbados between Jan 18-26th, 2012 with my new K3.

I am a life member of the ARRL. An ARRL VE, I hold DXCC Honor Roll in both Mixed and Phone, I am a member of the Saratoga National Cemetery Honor Guard Association, I'm also a life member of the Vietnam Veterans of America Adirondack Chapter 79, and a member of the Hudson-Champlain chapter of the Porsche Club of America. I own a 2007 Porsche Targa 4, and I'm a member of the ALPCA, Automobile License Plate Collectors Association for over 35 years. I'm always looking for donations of Call Letter plates for my collection.
