I have been a licensed amateur radio operator since October 2008 and currently hold a General class license. My Original License was KJ4HJP, then KJ4SAM.

I am an active member of the Kennehoochee Amateur Radio Club,Cobb County ARES and the ARRL. I also am a member of the Southeastern DX club and the South East Contest Club.

I enjoy a wide variety of modes, but primarily spend my time on HF working SSB and PSK. My station consists of a Yaesu FT-950 and FT450 radio with 80/40 & 30/20 MTU and the DMU2000, and LDG Autotuner. My Antenna is a G5RV 80-10 at about 60 feet horizontal. The radio is connected to my desktop computer via a SingnaLink USB interface for digital modes and serial cable for rig control. My computer runs Win7 and I use HRD and DM-780 as my digital mode operating software of choice and rig control.

Additional equipment I have and operate is two (2) Yaesu FT8800, FT8700 for 2m/70cm work. Kenwood TM-V71Aand a FT-897D, Mobile. My Handitalkie is a Wouxun KG-UV2D.

My ARES equipment and "go kit" includes a FT-897D, and FT8900. YT-100 LDG autotuner and a Signalink for digital modes. My portable antennas include a Comet BB7V and a BlueStar dipole.

When I'm not on HF or Contesting, I enjoy working with ARES and Local Community Events. I am a technology nut, but also am a ordained minister by choice and calling. My QSL cards, I have been told, are both inspiring and unique and I enjoy sending them.

I regularly upload all contacts to both LOTW (preferred) and eQSL.cc . I also QSL direct as I enjoy sending and collecting "old-fashioned" QSL cards.Recent accomplishments include several special event certificates as well as eQSL.cc eWAS and eDX. Also have ARRL WAS andDXCC.
