Been wanting a license since I was 12. Finally made myself do it a few years ago. First HF DX contact Puerto Rico, second to South Africa. Really loving it so far.

The "shack". Also known as a small pile of radios in my basement. Ignore the grafitti!

When I want some sun and dont't want
to be a Morlock in the basement, this
is the common 10m/2m setup for the day.

Firestick 2m 5/8 fiberglass antenna on a 2007 Toyota Corolla (w/ floormat-turbo mod). Notice I didn't say "whip".
This thing is a borderline weapon. Quesitonable when used with a trunk-mount and spring, but maybe I'm just

paranoid. I'm probably going to put this up in the air, add 4 tuned radials and have a nice 5/8 ground-plane for
2m. Or it won't work at all and the radio will catch fire. Either way.exciting times!
