Sarted out with an interest in satellites. My first call was N8MVI. Got into packet and helped with a tcp/ip switch as KF8PH. In 2-land I have been active on HF - all bands. I am starting to get back on HF digital, and have started back on statellites.
September 2009 pictures show the old station with the baker shelves. I replaced those in Summer 2010. The antennas have not changed. Here are a few. The G5RV's are stealth.
.
Station consists of an IC 756 Pro III + PW1 amplifier (not shown, its below the table) through a G5RV (E-W). Also a Kenwood 950-SDX to a TS922A amplifier tuned with a MFJ 986 Differential-T tuner into a SM230 scope to a ground mounted Cushcraft AP8A (10m-80m) vertical antenna with about 16 ground radials. I also have a Yaesu FT2000D with the DMU, barefoot into a G5RV (N-S). The latest acquisition is a Flex-5000A. The ICOM 756 Pro III, Kenwood TS-950SDX and Flex 5000A are fed audio with the W2IHY EQPlus/8-Band Equalizer/iplus. The Flex can swithch to any of the 3 antennas.
Right now the Yaesu and Kenwood HF rigs are controlled with the Hamradio Deluxe software on 2 PC's. For VHF/UHF there is an ICOM-910 dual band with a 1.2 GHz module. The uhf/vhf that feeds into a Mirage D3010 UHF amp and the companion B2516G 2m amp with pre-amp. These feed a pair of crossed yagis with antenna mounted icom pre-amps, on a Yaesu G-5500 Azmuth/Elevation rotor controlled by a LVB Tracker. The 1.2 GHz loop yagi is also mounted on it.The satellites system uses the MacDoppler program on my iMac. For FM only I run an Kenwood TM-641A. This quadbander does 2m, 440 and 220, and can RX on the 900 MHz band. I have a Kantronics 9612 for packet. I have a FT-857D for the mobile, but have not had a lot of luck getting the interference out of the moblie antenna system in spite of the grounding, and ferrite beads. Part of the problem is the general quality of the power lines here, as I even get interference in the high powered AM radio stations in this part of the state. I work QRP with a Yaesu Ft-817 and some magnet wire. In the shack I work the 817 digital with aMac Mini computer and twin hamsticks hung in the trees. I also use the FT-817 with an Arrow hand held antenna for the satellites. I run at lest 4 computers in the shack. Two with Windows7, one XP box, and one MAC. My other hobby is photograhpy. I have migrated from 35mm and 2 1/4 format to digital and occassionally post photos on my photo pages. Fishing, swimming and golf find space on my calendar as well.
