LJ2T was the call sign of the Radio (Telegraphers) School [Radioskolen] of the Norwegian Army's Signal Corps from 1945 to 1982. The Signals Museum of the Norwegian Armed Forces [Modellkammer Joerstadmoen Sambandsmuseum] used this call sign from 19 to 28 June 2009, in connection with the International Museums Weekends, and again during the International Museum Weekends 18 - 20 & 25 - 27 June 2010. The last operation was from 30 June to 3 July, 2011: all bands 160 m - 70 cm with CW, SSB, FM & digital modes, including 4 m (70 MHz). Please visit the museum, which is located near Lillehammer, Norway. The Station Manager is LA4LN. The QSL Manager is LA5EAA.

The picture above shows the 2 x 5 element Yagi antennas for 4 meters (70 MHz) between the 2 x 5 element Yagi antennas for 6 meters (50 MHz) used from LJ2T during the last weekend of June 2010.

One of our operation sites was from inside an old Dodge ambulance converted to a signals vehicle after the World War 2 in 1945.

Here a picture of our HF + VHF station at LJ2T. This was the first known operation on 4 m (70 MHz) from the QTH locator square JP51, creating quite some interest among VHF DXers. In spite of low meteor activity at the time, some European radio amateurs were able to log LJ2T on 4 m using JT6M-mode via meteor scatter. The unlucky, who didn't make it this time, may try again next year, when LJ2T will come back on the air.
