Hello my name is David Ogg (Aka Oggy), I was born in Scunthorpe in 1968, a steel manafacturing town in the county of North Lincolnshire.I am married to my wife Susan who I met in 1989, I have one son called Matthew who was born in 1994.I work for a local fabrication company where I am employed as a time served welder,I have worked in the engineering trade since I left school in 1984.My other pastimes include my membership of a local scooter club where I enjoy riding my 1969 Lambretta scooter in the summer months.I first got involved with radio in 1979 when myself and my late father got involved in CB radio which at that point was outlawed.We stayed on 11 meters through the 1980s on legal FM .My interest in radio was revisted in the late 90s when I passed the novice Ham exam and then the RAE[City&Guilds]exam in December 2003.I operate most weekends on 20mtrs and enjoy a good DX ragchew.I am a member of the RSGB. In the summer of '07 myself and with the help of Fred[G0AOJ]installed a 60ft lattice tower with various beams including a 6 element Opti-beam for HF.The station of M0OGY consists of an Icom IC756 Pro3 with an Heil icm microphone running a Linear Amp 811H powering 4 572B valves and the antenna is an Opti-Beam OB6-3M for 20/15/10 meters.The 80/40 meters station is a Yaesu FT1000D with matching SP5 speaker fitted with a Timewave S9 unit and the microphone is a Yaesu MD 1 desk mic.The amp is a Drake L75 running to a Linear Amp balanced line Supertuner to a modded full size G5RV with ladder line.For VHF/UHF I operate an Icom IC910HX (matching line up),a Yaesu FT726R,and a Kenwood TS2000E (matching line up). Both the Icom and Kenwood run Bob Heil microphones. The TS2000 runs a Goldline.The antennas for 6 meters is a Cushcraft 5 element monobander and my 2 meters yagi is a Jaybeam 12 element Parabeam .For local com's I can be heard on 2 meters FM on my Yaesu FT8900 quadbander.My other radio interest is collecting old 11 meters SSB radios , one of my radios (Belcom LS102L) I operate on 10 meters with. I am the current Chairman of The Brigg and District Amateur Radio Club (BDARC) that I was one of the four founder Members of.
