YES, My name is WAYNE and I do live in KANNAPOLIS, NC across the city limit line of Concord.  Retired from the Fire service with 38 years of service I now have a lot of time to devote to amateur radio.(HA! HA!)   CONTESTING on the VHF/UHF bands has become my favorite mode of operation in amateur radio.  Building antennas for different bands is another of my ham activites and that alone can keep me ocuppied. I enjoy working SSB on ten, six & two meters and 440 mhz.  Just getting started in HF and will soon be contesting on these bands too.  So much to do!

         Club affilations are with the Cabarrus Amateur Radio Society, Carolina DX Association and the Dixie Radio Pirates Contest Team where I have the honor of serving as President for 2009.   Serving as net manager for the local ARES team I conduct the ARES net on Tuesday night.  I enjoy helping to sponser Jamboree on the Air for the boy scouts in our area. 

Others activites are singing solo's/duets with my wife Cathy and  in the choir at  church, Royal Oaks Baptist.  Still active in the Scouting program for 45 years  serving as a Commissiner for the Kannapolis District, Central NC Council.  My wife Cathy and I are active campers using a Jayco Eagle camper.
