New picture is needed, showing the K3 and K2 side by side. The 706 is going back in the vehicle and the 703+ is going to be used by Isaac (W4IGW). The rigs here are Elecraft K2/100 S/N 5982 (not as active of late. Need to replace the headphone jack) Elecraft K3/100 S/N 766 is my primary rig. Active on CW / RTTY and some Phone. Enjoy contesting and catching DX. All QSO's are quickly uploaded to LOTW. In Sept. 2001, I went to the Virginia Beach Hamfest, bought an HT and some CW CDROMs, and took my technician test. I had contemplated getting into ham radio several times, and then read a article in an RV magazine about folks traveling, and using local repeaters to chat, get directions and local info. So I started studying in the summer of 2001. I have enjoyed the hobby and the people immensely. I'm active ARES/RACES work here. We have quite a sophisticated 2m/440 packet backbone here in Virginia. I live near Williamsburg, Virginia and I am active on the 2m repeater 146.76. I maintain an RMS Gateway, NM4M-10. It currently runs on Debian 4. Got to love AX.25 on Linux. Have Ubuntu Server 8.10 downloaded, need to try setting that up. Recently put up a 80m loop vertical loop, and have a 160m - 6m inverted vee. Not active in FISTS at the moment, but number is stored here in case I get started up again. My number is 10059. I enjoy using Linux as my primary operating system on the computers here. I also maintain my webpage, http://www.nm4m.com as well as the local club's page. Williamsburg Area Amateur Radio Club -- http://www.nm4m.net so stop on by sometime and sit a spell. Take care and have a good day. 73 Dave Wilburn -=NM4M=- Previous calls; Tech KG4PMN, General KG4SSO, Extra K4DGW Last modified: 2011-11-11 21:45:45, 1782 bytes cached
