PLEASE - NO IRC's. They are not accepted in my location! Greetings friend and fellow radio enthusiast! It was great to meet you on the bands. My station is located in the Eastern Highlands province of Papua New Guinea, 5,300 ft. elevation. It’s a beautiful location for ham radio. It’s a small community called Ukarumpa, about 90 km (54 miles) south of Goroka and 340 km (200 miles) northwest of the capital Port Moresby. I became a ham in 1995 in my home QTH of North Carolina as KE4TYN after a friend in my church nudged me to get my license. He would faithfully call me on the phone and send morse code to help me practice. I enjoy Dxing, slow scan, ragchewing, and collecting QSL cards. At present I’ve completed WAS, WAC, DXCC, and Worked All VK Call Areas. I love to travel and meet other hams. I’ve been to Milanda, Australia to visit VK4AFO. I had an unforgettable trip to South Africa to visit with my friend Norman ZS6SOA. I am a Christian and believe in God with all my heart. I’m fascinated by the life of Jesus Christ , His Son, as He walked this earth and changed history forever. He changed me completely and gave me a real purpose in life. I’m married to Konni, my loving wife, since 1986. I have two beautiful daughters, Rachel and Laura. Our work here in PNG is quite unique as we work among a remote group of people called the Kasua. I am a linguist and Bible translator. We live in a remote village among the nationals, learn their unwritten language, give it a written alphabet form, analyze the grammar system, teach the people how to read and write in their own language, do some community development, and most importantly, help them to translate the Bible into their language. It’s an incredible challenge, but God has been faithful to help us all along the way. Check out my website at www.reachthekasua.com . Other Interests: Fishing, woodworking, photography and graphic design. Radio Shack Info: Icom 7000, Telrex Beam,5 Element Tri-bander up 40 ft. QSL: Direct Only . No IRC’s please because they are not honored here. It costs me $2.70 USD each time I send out my QSL card to the US or Europe. If you send only $1, I cannot send you my QSL. I have a very tight budget and cannot afford to make up the extra cost. I'm sure you understand. Occasionally I have a friend who is traveling back to the US and can hand-carry my QSL's and mail them from there, but this doesn't happen that often. I look forward to seeing you on the bands again. God Bless and 73, Tommy
