Hello OP's !
My shortname is Bert (the last part of Herbert), i was born in Feb. 1956 and i am living since mid 2009 in North Sweden near Norsjö.

The beginning of my amateur radio hobby was a coincidence.

My father (Hermann - DD3EK) was in a hospital many years ago. There was a pastor working, who as a radio operator on a ship before he became a pastor. He was at sea and his ship was sinking at the coast of africa. When he was lost in the sea, he was praying to god, that he would be a pastor, when he would be rescued. He ask my father if he could order him a multi-band radio, because it was not allowed by the hospital he was working in. After about 3 weeks, the multi-band radio was delivered to my father's home and the pastor visited us to get his radio. He unpacked the multi-band radio immediately, testing it, and was listening to the marine band. The pastor could hear everything very well and without writing it down he could say what he was hearing.

When i see this as a little child, i was so excited, that i want to learn this too.

Some time later, my father was bringing a morse euipment and a book to learn at home and i was learning every day. When i was 9 years old i could make real good cw, but i still need to learn to understand it. Unfortunaly a cw workshop by the DARC was not sucessfull, because they startet with EISH5 and i dont understand this. That's way i learned cw with a Telefunken Regenbogen RX, which one my father als bought.

When i was 14 years old, i made my amateur radio exam and i still have the same call since this day: DK7QB.
My homebase in Germany is Rhede / N54.

After this, the amateur radio was a big part of my life.

For 95% i am very interested into CW. But i also like QRP, the building of radios mast's and antenna's and of course the collecting of QSL cards. I also like to go to contests and help other people to solve their amateur radio exam.

I could enhance my contest experience especially by the help of PI4DTC and PA6Z and i am very thankful to them.

Until now i was QRV in the following countries: PA, ON, LX, F, HB9, HB0, OZ, GJ, SM und LA.
Always with a little equipment and an antenna.

Hallo OP´s!

Diesen Leuten gilt mein besonderer Dank !

QRV war ich bis heute in folgenden Ländern : PA, ON, LX, F, HB9, HB0, OZ, GJ, SM und LA.
Immer mit kleinen Geräte- und Antennenaufwand.
