Hello dear YLs and OM and thank you for having a look here at my qrz.com profile !
My name is Natasha and I am very fresh in the exciting hobby of Ham Radio, since 2007.
I got my ticket just a couple of months after my husband Bill SV7LNK did as well, and although I got started because of my OM, now I can feel that the ham bug has bitten me and there is no way back ! HI !
Our shack is very busy -two hams in one shack are too many I can tell !- as we are both working on HF on a regular basis. We also work together on setting up our antennae. So far we have managed to set an extensive network of aerials on our terrace making this way our terrace look really exciting and fun ! However, we recently upgraded our "wire antenna park" with a mighty 3-element SteppIR (40m+30m are in also) antenna along with a dipole for 80m. The transceivers we use are:YAESU FT-1000MP, Kenwood TS-2000 and a YAESU FT-857.
Currently, I am mostly QRV on SSB and digital modes as well, although I regard CW to be a brilliant mode in our hobby. Being a pianist and piano teacher by trade, I can appreciate the musicality and the tone/rhythm of CW: it is a unique mode not only in the technical way, but also in the way that its beauty can give pure joy to the CW operator every time.
The aspect that attracted me from the very first moment in Ham Radio was DXing - and I still feel carried away every single time I can establish a QSO with a distant station. Now, with our SteppIR DXing has become even more exciting and effective ! Apart from this, I consider myself very lucky for having joined the J42T contest team -and I feel really thankful to SV2BFN that gave us this chance to experience the beauty and the thrill of contesting- and ever since participating in major contests has become on my main on-the-air activities.
Furthermore, I am also QRV from time to time from my homeland, Evia island as SV7LOS/8. I grew up in Edipsos town, a very special place known for its history, its natural thermal spas and the beautiful seasides around attracting loads of tourists all-year-round.
Last but at not at least, something else that I love is handling QSLs -filling them in, sorting them out
I am the QSL manager of J42T station and I always reply the incoming buro and direct QSLs within a few days after I receive them. For direct cards, please enclose a S.A.E (Self Addresed Envelope) plus sufficient return postage.
Thanks for looking me up guys ! See you in the pile ups !
