Evpatoria lighthouse is located near Evpatoria, in the village Zaozerne. The area was populated in ancient times. Evpatoria in 2003 celebrated 2500 years of its foundation.
In 1861, on a deserted shore Kalamitsky bay, washing Evpatoria, was built the first tower Evpatorian lighthouse. It was a building height of 14 meters, white.
In 1946, the next was to build a second tower of 20 m, which replaced the honored veteran, the first tower. In April 1970, the light was lit on the third tower 52 m. Tower Evpatorian lighthouse was the highest in the whole Black Sea coast. . The range of the main canopy increased to 20 miles.
