COCHIN LIGHTHOUSE:
Built in 1988 by the residents of Cochin, Saskatchewan this 11.5meter/38 foot hexagonal wooden lighthouse sits on top of Pirot Hill and overlooks Jackfish Lake. It is fully operational and automatically comes on at dusk.
It is located on the north edge of Cochin, about 30kms/18.6miles north of North Battleford, Saskatchewan and is the only lighthouse in the province. The Lighthouse was activated on it's 20th Anniversary for the first time, during the, ILLW, "International Lighthouse/Lightship Weekend" August 15th to 17th, 2008.
