I was first licensed in 1952 as WN7QXA, then upgraded to General in August of 1952, all activity from Silverton, OR until 1961. Moved to Tacoma, WA in 1964, then to Cupertino, CA as W6LOA. Back to Beaverton, OR in 1972 as W7KEZ, on to Sacramento, CA in 1986 and once again W6LOA. Retired in 1998 to Nevada and back with the W7KEZ call. One side note, lived in Omaha, NE in 1955-56 as K0EAG for a short time.
My Elmer was W7GQD, then W7DS (originally 7DL before WW1). Lots of fun on 160 AM with a single 6L6 and ARC5 txs on 80 and 40. Home built antenna tuners, power supplies, and mods to the ARC5 gear.
For work I spent 13 years with GE Mobile Radio, 4 plus years with EFJ, and the last ten years building and managing mountain top radio sites.
Now with two homes and two stations, building AM/CW txs.
73 fer nw es bcnu,
John W7KEZ
