WD5M.NET Web Site and Contact Form The picture above is a new 80M OCF Dipole that Rick (W7YC) and I built recently. I currently have a 160M version up, which barely fits in my back yard. We built ten OCF dipoles to fill requests from friends. I linked some construction photos to the K5MOT web site. I have had interests in radio and electronics for most of my life. However, I did not seriously pursue a HAM license until just several years ago. I've worked for Motorola for over 30 years, and I they kept me satisfied with radios and other gadgets. I combined my HAM radio hobby with my ultralight aircraft hobby. I got my ham license and flew hang gliding while in Phoenix AZ, where my friends still teach hang gliding pilots part time with our trike. Since transferring back to Texas, I became interested in IRLP (Internet Radio Link Project). I helped install node 3747 (K5MOT-R) at the Fort Worth National Weather Service office for use during severe weather in North Texas. I have also installed or assisted with several other IRLP nodes. Several of these IRLP nodes also operate on EchoLink using EchoIRLP software. I am the webmaster for the WX5FWD SKYWARN Team, the Oklahoma Repeater Society and the Motorola Amateur Radio Club of North Texas. I am a life member of the Texas VHF-FM Society . I am also a life member of the Arizona Repeater Associationand I am an ARRL life member. My APRS/CWOP weather station is WD5M. My brother Tim is also a HAM, KD5KTB. His wife Devon is KD5UID. I have spent most of my HF operation time on digital modes like PSK-31 and MFSK. However, my brother and I talk regularly via IRLP. He operates IRLP node 8710 and the Enid ARC node 3198 in Enid.
