The prime activity of Adventure Radio Club is the activation of field stations in adventurous and unusual locations.
ARC also participates in the annual International Lighthouse and Lightship Activity Weekend and was active in the 2010 event from Cape Columbine Lighthouse near Paternoster, on the West Coast of South Africa.
The lighthouse is at coordinates 32°49'S 17°51'E and its official ILLW number is ZA0001.
The call sign ZS1ARC was active on the bands 80, 40, 20, 15 and 10m and QSL cards forwarded to the QSL address indicated above, will receive a card in return.
Cape Columbine Lighthouse is located on a ridge and the sea is behind the lighthouse in this image.
