EQUIPMENT LIST, so far:
Ten_Tec 546 Omni D (Series B)
Maxcon OCF-3K80 antenna
KW TS-520S - I cleaned the VFO so it is usable now, I am using an Astatic D104-M6B mic and that combo seems to work fairly well. It is a very different experience using this radio vs something newer like the IC-7300, but it's fun to use and I am getting a bit faster with getting it tuned up and ready to go. :)
Ten-Tec - I have not used it on the air yet, it seems to recieve great, and the VFO is stable, I need to wire a mic adapter, then I can test it out.
IC-7300 - Great fun so far! I am still getting used to how it all works, it is nice to have at least one modern rig, the scope/panadapter is super nice. I will most likely use this radio most of the time. Good reports so far, even with the stock mic.
Adventure motorcycle riding, I have a WR250R I made a 6000 mile trip with last summer around 50/50 dirt/slab. Trans American Trail, then up through OR, WA, British Columbia, then looped back around through Glacer NP, and Back to CO. It was great fun and I plan on doing more trips in the future. Will try and add some pics at some point from the trip.
Backpacking, hiking, photography, travel, etc, mostly outside stuff but Ham Radio stuff makes for a great hobby in winter when I have had enough cold outside. I may see about getting into some small lightweight QRP rig maybe to use on some ADV Moto trips, that might be fun! :)
