Welcome to the Heyworth Amateur Radio Club (HARC)!

Heyworth is a small town in Central Illinois, in the southern most part of McLean County.

HARC is active on the KG9DW Heyworth UHF repeater on 442.825+ 141.3pl. We also support a D-STAR repater on 444.7+ with a callsign of KD9AKF. Both repeaters are on the Heyworth grain elevator located on the south side of the village, and are at 250 ft AGL. You can work either one with a 5 watt handheld from up to 10 miles away, and up to 20 miles away with a mobile.

The UHF repeater was built with equipment donated by the Village of Heyworth, and is sponsored by the Randolph Township Fire Protection District. The D-STAR repeater was put together by the members of the club on a shoestring budget. Both antennas being used were abandoned by old commercial services. For the internet access for the D-STAR gateway, we are being provided a link from MR Systems Wireless of Clinton, IL.

This is the D-STAR 444.7 antenna, looking to the SE.

The fiberglass antenna in the corner is the Analog UHF 442.825MHzrepeater antenna. To its left is a 461.125MHz anteanna for GPS augmentation for the local farmers, and to the right is a commercial dish for providing a Wifi shot off to Le Roy, IL.

This is a look up the elevator from the 189' level. The block building is called the "head house" and it contains an electrical room for the repeater equipment. The antennas are mounted on the top of the head house at about 250' AGL.
