I received my license in November of 2012 and made my 1st HF contact in January of 2013.

I really enjoy the hobby. I am the secretary for our local club-Yukon Amatuer Radio Association (http://www.yara.ca), check us out.

I QSL 100% but also upload to LoTW, eQSL(AG) and of course right here on QRZ.

As an FYI- ALL OF MY LOG ENTRIES ARE UTC

Me and my homebrew trailer. This was 2013 near the Alaska border. Y.A.R.A. provides emergency comms for the KCIBR (Kluane Chilkat International Bike Relay). Cyclists go from Haines Junction, YT to Haines, AK, either in teams (relay) or some do individual. We have operators at every checkpoint along the way. Check them out at http://www.kcibr.org/

The permanent shack. Finally have a place in the house where its warm year round!!

Alinco DX-SR8T, Yaesu FT-450 and my 1st HF rig ICOM IC-745. All barefoot at 100W, for now...........

The 1/2" copper 20 meter dipole at 45ft. The "Fat Arse Plumber's DX Special" going up. The rotator will come later......

Also a 80, 40 inverted V used for 80, 40, 17, 15 and 10 meters.

The plastice plumbing T is just to give the pipe something to adhere to and to allow for clamping to the mast.

Homebrewed connector from an exterior plastic mini electrical box and a scavenged 239 from a dead, ancient 2M commercial rig.

The "FrankenTuner"-Started life as a Dentron 80-10AT for long wire. The addition of a variable cap from an amplifier repair and the switch from a toasted MJF mini tuner and the FrankenTuner was born! Still needs a little fine tuning but will handle 800W without a whimper. Going to move the switch to the back panel. That should be more efficient and also less chance of the leads sagging/shorting.

Homebrew universal dipole connector. An old map tube, a 239 connector and a couple of stove bolts. Connect whatever lengths you need, center or OCF, and your in business. I need to put a small eye bolt in the top cap then glue and seal and its done. Good for field days or at home. A simple Sunday afternoon project. Make up various lengths with ring connectors on one end and you have an easy way to change bands or put multiple bands on the same connector. Its all made from scavenged parts as well. I'm currently using this this one on my 'Franken Tower' setup with an 80 and 40 inverted V dipole, works great!

My little Z3. Way to much fun.....
