Started as a one year novice back in 1969. Then licensed again in 1986. Have held the call signs WN3OCV and KF5NU. My main interest is HF antenna system design and practical implementation. I am always putzing with antennas and I enjoy helping other folks get up antennas for the HF bands.

Currently running a Elecraft K3 driving a Heathkit SB-1000 Amplifier.   3 antennas -- W5RH modified 40 meter DX Delta Loop, a 12/17/20 meter rotatable dipole and a 10/15 and 30 meter rotatable dipole, both made from spare Mosley TA-33 Yagi parts.   The Loop is open at the center of the baseline and is fed so that it works well on 80 meters with tuned feeders.

Recently attended the ARRL 100th with my Ham friends and while at headquarters my friend Carrol, AA2NN, from New York drove over and visited with his dog Zoey.   Carrol and I have a multi-time sked with Moz, VK3CWB, on 40, 20 and 12 whatever works at the time the sked is.  We have both visited Moz (Maurie) in his home in Mildura, Victoria Australia and the picture is of me and Moz planting a couple of trees to dedicate my wife's and my visit to VK3 in 2012   Visit VK3CWB's web site...pretty cool!.

Ham Radio, for me, has always been fun, exciting and rewarding. I hope it is for you too. 73...Rick -- W5RH
