Feb2016:  I have relocated to southwest Washington near Vancouver after 20 yrs on the east coast!  Great to be back home!

Feb2015:  Yahoo!!  After 20 yrs of DXing, I worked KP1 (Navassa) for my "last one" and now #1 Honor Roll!

Summits on the Air (SOTA): Since 2009, I have been very SOTA (Summits On The Air) active. First thru establishing most of the W7 states into Associations within the SOTA program. W7 has more than 17,000+ peaks! An Association is a catalog of SOTA-qualified peaks. In 2014, I received the first "Sherpa Award", recognition for my contribution to the SOTA program in 2013. SOTA is a great radio community comprised of "Activators" (those who hike one of the qualified peaks and setup a portable radio for qsos) and "Chasers" (those who contact the Activators). A point scoring system is in place for both Activators and Chasers. See http://www.sota.org.uk/ for more information. I use the call nS0TA for all my SOTA activations.

My DXpeditions: QSL LoTW, Direct with SASE, Bureau.  NO IRC's.  $2 for International Direct. NO eQSL!

Aug 2009 News Release: WE MADE IT!!! The Old Goats DXpedition team (including Rooster and Peanut!) participated in the 2009 Colo 14er "special event" hamradio (see http://www.14er.org/ ) activation of Humboldt Peak (14,064') this past August 9th using our 2008 callsign of N0B. After setting a "first" for a QRP HF out-of-state, 14er-to-14er qso in 2008 (Mt. Whitney, CA to Uncompaghre, CO), this time we hoped to make a 3-way, summit QSOs between Mt. Shasta, Mt. Langley (both in CA) and Humboldt Peak in CO. The Colorado team of Steve/wG0AT and Guy/N7UN will hike into a 11,000 base camp on Friday and setup QRP antennas for Friday and Saturday radio fun.

FS/N7UN (Feb 2009): Mini-dxpediton to St Martin (FS), Sint Maarten (PJ7) and Saba Is. (PJ6).

I was first licensed in 1963 as K7YYK then AA7QZ in 1991 and N7UN in 1996. I have been active at different periods during this time. DXing (340/340 worked/confirmed #1 Honor Role), contesting, and now field QRP with SOTA have been some of my interests in Ham Radio. Moved to NJ with my job about 18 years ago from Portland, OR. Yes, it still is a shock!
