I enjoy riding bicycles and have recently started riding recumbents. They are very comfortable to ride. They are a little different to balance because your upper torso is typically planted against the frame or back of the seat. So, you have to be alert when riding slow and pay attention to stearing and balance. http://www.wonderly.org/gregg/bents/hurricane.html
I am relatively new Amatuer Radio license carrier, but have been around Ham radio operators off and on for several years. The main impetus for my becomming a Ham is my interest in digital packet radio. I am the author of the JeAPRS package at http://jeaprs.dev.java.net . This is a Java language APRS/packet radio platform.
I am starting to work on JeAPRS support for Open-Trac (http://sourceforge.net/projects/opentrac/). Open-Trac is the next generation of APRS like packet radio services. This is an exciting evolution (with some revolution) of tactical packet radio networking.
I have written an echolink client in Java that lets you use the same application under windows, linux and MacOS-X. That project is visible at http://javecho.dev.java.net . Check it out!
