Assisted Contact Confirmations

The QRZ confirmation system was designed to support the concept of confirming communications between operators that would be eligible for awards.  Since the beginning of the QRZ awards system, contacts that were relay or repeater assisted, and now internet assisted, have not been eligible for awards.  For this reason, confirmations for such contacts were not implemented.  

While there are currently some ways to try to achieve a confirmation by adjusting the QSO data, those confirmations are not valid based on the system as it currently exists.  Further, the revisions necessary to support satellite and other "assisted" contact confirmations are well outside the scope of reasonable modifications to the existing codebase.  The staff at QRZ are working hard to ensure the platform continues to be a valuable tool to our users, and the site's next generation is currently under development.  As the development progresses, rest assured we are taking the growth of satellites and other new or growing technologies into consideration as we develop.  

Currently the only workaround which will generate a valid confirmation is to obtain a QSL for the contact on LOTW and using LOTW integration, import the QSO/QSL from LOTW,  QRZ respects confirmations from LOTW.
