Logbook 3.0 Documentation

Callsign Changes

When your call sign changes, many things have to happen at QRZ.  The system can make a call sign change (such as with FCC data), or the user may request it (for DX).

Upon learning of the change, the QRZ server must:

  1. Rename or Replace the existing call sign record
  2. Relocate the Bio and the Photos from the old call to the new one
  3. Re-Link the assets in the Bio to reflect the new call sign
  4. Create a new logbook.  Note: No logs are ever moved.

Thereafter, you will see two logbooks available when you go to the QRZ Logbook page.   Just click on the Logbook Name drop-down menu to choose the other book.   As you use the Logbook, it will default to the current, newly created logbook.   You cannot keep using your old logbook with the new call sign, but you can still log and confirm past QSOs to it.  Your past operating credits are never in jeopardy.
